Shoddy Work in Nakalama/Bukona HCIII

Description

Community from Nakalama/Bukona HCIII complained about a shoddy structure being constructed at the health center as a ward. The BOQs indicated a two block room awith four windows however the constructor had provided for only two windows and wa building one room. Communities later complained and the block was separated into two small rooms.On 14th September a team from ACCOB and ACCU together with Engineer Kibanda from Iganga district visited the site and confirmed a poor mixture of the cement and sand, and violation of the agreement and BOQs. Following the monitoring BOQs and all relevant documents were accessed for the procurement department to follow up the case , however on 17th September 2012 the building was destroyed by the constructor and fresh construction material was seen at the site.
